春晖中文学校校名源于中国大唐诗人孟郊的名诗《游子吟》。千百年来，这首歌颂真淳而深挚母爱的诗，感动了不知多少中国人。该诗结尾两句：“谁言寸草心，报得三春晖”，更是真切地表达了微芥如小草般的儿女深感难以报答如春晖般厚博的母爱之情，我们取“春晖”为校名，谨以寄托以下美好的愿望：愿我们的孩子们享受充分的爱和良好的教育，如小草沐浴于和煦的春晖中，健康地长大；愿我们这些身在他乡的游子们，能永远记住自己的祖国以及她悠久的历史和灿烂的文化。
Call for Nomination for 2009 DCAA Student Leadership Award
We are pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for 2009 DCAA Student Leadership Award. The award is to recognize our high school students for their significant contributions and accomplishments in leadership, volunteerism, promotion of Chinese cultural heritage, and outstanding academic achievements in our Chinese school.

The registration deadline is extended to this Saturday,
if your kid wants to participate, please register with your kid's teacher or school
staff by the week if you haven't registered yet. |

The last school day is on June 7 |
The Chinese School has three school days left. We will
have normal classes this week, while next Saturday (5/24) the school will be closed
for Memorial Day, the following Saturday (5/31) is final exam date.
The last school day is on June 7. On that day the
school will hold the Chinese speech contest, graduation ceremony, and a short performance
by our dancing classes. I anticipate the whole programs would span about 2.5 h.
We will combine the two sessions together, starting at 1:00 pm. So the normal 3:10
- 5:00 pm session students need to be school at 1:00 pm as well on June 7. Please
plan your other schedules early accordingly. |
